Pour certains, le casino est comme un metier. Certains y passent toute leur journee pour pouvoir remporter une sorte de "salaire" plus ou moins eleve d'ici la fin du mois.

Ces personnes auraient eu la bonne reponse. Toutefois, j'ai du mal a croire que cette categorie, qui devrait apparaitre en premiere place, ne se trouve au final qu'au bas de la liste. En effet, jouer au casino devrait etre avant tout une partie de plaisir. On the other hand, if it’s the only affordable solution, shop around for a contingency-fee lawyer, making sure the one you choose is taking less than 50 percent and is willing to focus on the party that actually caused you the pain and suffering, not an oblivious third party with deep pockets. Under these conditions, you should do fine.

Spinal cord injury the afterlife

Am I talking about death here? No, I’m talking about life after a spinal cord injury. Why did I phrase the title of this article as I did? Because for many people who suffer a spinal cord injury, their first thoughts after being informed of paralysis, or wheelchairs, or a severed spinal cord, causing the patient to never be able to walk again, is indeed death. “Why did I even live?”


I know that was one of my earliest thoughts after I was able to understand what was going on. Once I regained consciousness from my three days of coma, by awakening to a breathing tube being pulled from my throat, I was advised that I had an accident.


Maybe a few hours later, it’s hard to recall exactly, I began to comprehend the great distress in the doctor’s face and voice as he communicated to me about how my spine was broken in three places and the bone fragments had severed my spinal cord, and as a result I would never be able to walk again. Maybe it was at that time that I first wished myself dead.


Now its twenty-two years later. I’ve had twenty-two years of using a wheelchair for mobility. I’ve had twenty-two years of “Afterlife.” My spinal cord is still severed. I still have paralysis from chest-level down (T-4 to be exact). I have multiple wheelchairs; a basketball wheelchair, a tennis wheelchair, an everyday wheelchair. Over the years I’ve probably had close to 10 different wheelchairs. All of the chairs, all of the catheters, all of the baclofen, all of the leg bags and tubes, all of the paralysis paraphernalia thanks to one moment in time of loosing control of my car, hitting a guardrail, tree, and house, snapping my spine in three places and injuring my spinal cord.


Wouldn’t it have been better if I just didn’t have this kind of after life and experienced the bog finale afterlife instead? Well, I can’t answer that for sure because I have not been able to compare the two side by side. But I can tell you that you can have a life and a rather rewarding and fulfilling life, if you so choose, even after a spinal cord injury.

Research finds that 87 of consumers choose generic drugs

The researchers analyzed four drugs: Allegra, Arava, Amaryl and Zithromax. In the second half of 2005, each of these drugs run out of patent protection. Their generic equivalents were bought instead at an average factor of 87 percent within 30 days of the equivalent’s delivery at pharmacies.


The research was organized by Medco Health Solutions Inc. based in Frankin Lakes, which is the biggest drug benefit management company in U. S. The company bargains for low prices of prescription drug on behalf of its customers.


According to the study, Zithromax, the blockbuster of Pfizer Inc. with its annual sales of $1.85 billion was rapidly substituted at pharmacies by generic equivalent at a 90 percent rate just after it lost its patent protection in November.


The study authors mentioned the substitution of Zithromax, an antibiotic for respiratory infections, as evidence that more and more doctors prescribe generic versions of brand name drugs more easily, even if it is about so-called acute care drugs, such as Zithromax.


“The really good news is that these four generic medications are just the start. With a number of popular medications expected to move off patent in the next several years, we should see substantial prescription drug costs savings” - stated a Medco senior vice president, Dr. Glen Stettin.


A spokeswoman at Medco, Ann Smith stated that more than 70 brand name drugs, including 19 blockbusters, are losing their patent protection within the next five years - with total yearly sales of $45 billion.


If Medco’s study reveals a long-term trend, in the coming years consumers, employers and insurance companies will save billions of dollars in prescription drug - Smith said.


The data met with enthusiastic reaction from consumer groups.


“We hope the trend continues. It’s good for consumers,” confessed Bill Vaughan, senior policy analyst for an advocacy group, Consumer Union, based in Washington, D. C.


Vaughan mentioned that past fears concerning the effectiveness and safety of generic drugs have apparently started to fade away as society has become more concerned about rapid increase of health-care costs.


“The FDA approves these generic drugs because they have been determined just as safe and effective as their brand name counterparts, but you pay a fraction of the price,” Vaughan stated. “We think this is very positive and can save consumers literally billions of dollars in the next few years.”


At the same time, large pharmaceutical companies have claimed that their brand name drugs will not be substituted by knockoffs as insurers and doctors realize that the brand name drugs guarantee better care and in consequence - save money.


Hank McKinnell, Pfizer Chairman used that argument during last session with analysts in New York.


“If you don’t like the high cost of health care, try the high cost of sickness,” McKinnell advised.

Photorefractive keratectomy laser eye surgery

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a laser eye surgery procedure that is carried out with the key intent to correct a patient’s vision. However, both procedures are similar in the respect that they make use of a laser.


Photorefractive keratectomy is a viable procedure, but it does have possible complications. Apart from slow recovery and pain, the patient may experience glares and halos. As in any refractive surgery, there is a possibility of over - or under-correction. Prevention is better than cure

In dealing with health problems, it is said that prevention is better than cure. While it is certainly not an illness to be cured, the difficult situation of having an unwanted pregnancy can only be avoided in two ways: abstinence or prevention.

From movies to t. v. programs, from magazines to music --- sex is already a well-worn topic or subject. The open discussions about sexuality had also exposed women to sex.


Not everyone, however, are aware of the risks or danger in doing it. This ignorance then results to incidents such as unwanted pregnancy. Its victims are mostly young girls who, because of their curiosity, decided to engage in sexual activities. Nowadays, the prevalence of teenage pregnancy has increased to 90% every year, especially in developing countries.


It is not only those who are ignorant who experience unwanted pregnancy, however. A lot of women, though aware of the possible dangers, still engage in unprotected sex. They are those who are embarrassed, restricted by their religious beliefs and have a wrong understanding of the use of contraceptions. Some women choose to be at risk of pregnancy rather than ask and obtain available contraceptives. Others deliberately avoid using protection after being made to believe that using contraceptives is against the right to life. The rest, not knowing enough information about contraceptives and its side effects, fear that using those techniques, medications or devices can be harmful to their health. They fail to understand, however, that a greater risk is involved when women continue having sex unprotected.

Aside from AIDS, other infections that can be obtained from practicing unprotected sex are sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.


The use of contraceptives, however, does not ensure complete protection from unwanted pregnancy. A lot of pro-life groups and organizations are recently increasing their efforts in discouraging this practice and educating people, especially women, to engage in safe sex. Not all organizations, though, promote the use of contraceptives because of its ethical issues. Moral and legal aspects of abortion are still debated until now, however, some countries like the United States already allow its practice. Abortion, despited having positive effects, can still be detrimental to a person's health. It is said to cause breast-cancer and other mental health problems such as Post Abortion Syndrome. Rather than risk the dangers of having an abortion, it is better to just avoid getting pregnant when it is unwanted. Again, prevention is better than cure.

Extreme sports professionals make it look easy, but the reality is that it is not. In very few sports is one's sense of timing critical not only to winning, but also to preventing serious, life-threatening injuries. Extreme sports are tagged such for a very good reason.


For casual fans of extreme sports such as skateboarding, aggressive in-line skating, and ice climbing, the slightest mistake or a sudden burst of muscle spasms during competition can do more than just cause them to lose the game. However, in contrast to the increased risk to one's person if one gets these sorts of problems in the middle of a “run,” there is a lessened risk of the typical extreme sports athlete to actually develop an obvious physical problem. Extreme sports athletes tend to be serious about their training, but somehow maintain a generally laid-back attitude. This may seem rather contradictory, but most athletes in this sport aren't as obsessive as athletes in other sports are. There is a distinct lack of anxiety towards things like muscle structure and physical dominance, as the sports tend to put more emphasis on coordination and style.
