How to stop drinking alcohol alcohol addiction

Do you wish that you could stop or control your drinking? Is the alcohol starting to take over and you feel that you need some help in regaining control? Are you fed up with all of the problems and aggravation that comes from being addicted to alcohol? Have you ever thought of trying a successful and effective way to control or stop your habit? The why not give hypnosis a go to help you regain a lifestyle that is right for you? Hypnosis could just be the answer that you are looking for now that you know that the answer that you find at the bottom of a glass does not help you.

As a hypnotherapist and author I have helped many people in my career to regain a hold on their life and take control of their alcohol addiction or alcoholism. People get addicted to alcohol for many reasons, however many of them end up in the same situation and this is not a great situation to be in. A dependence on alcohol can rip apart relationships with loved ones and can crush families leaving children with a tough time trying to understand what is going on with the person that they love so much.

What would life be like if you dealt with this issue right now? What would change over the next few days and weeks as you started to take control? What would your get back – maybe even things that you thought had gone forever? You owe it not only to yourself but to the people that need you to be around to make a success of controlling your drinking. Just imagine all of the great things that life is offering you and just imagine how much more you can enjoy them with out the drink controlling you.

Hypnosis works to reprogram the part of your mind that makes you… YOU! We call this part your sub-conscious mind and this is where all of your habits, beliefs and behaviours are kept, including the ones that relate to your drinking habits. So whether you want to stop drinking alcohol completely or just want to control your intake then hypnosis may be just right for you.

If you are serious about being a happy and content person that can control their drinking habits or stop completely then I suggest you try a hypnosis download or recording or look up your local hypnotherapist.

I wish you the best of luck in achieving success with your drinking.

The secret - interview with john harricharan q1

A. Vishwanath: My first question is, John, over the last three decades you have transformed the lives of thousands and millions of people across the world through your books, seminars. I vividly remember you talking of your desire, of creating powerful energy field you know just like via wireless internet zones where people could get access to a world of information just by connecting to the internet without any effort.

You know, you wanted to do something similar where people could empower themselves instantly by visiting a special energy field and enjoy moments of power and glory. And I'm really thrilled at, you know, you have finally managed to put it all together with your latest personal transformation programs, spiritual simplicity, and I am equally overjoyed, you know, that I am important part of that.

Now what I want you to do, John, is talk about this unique venture and guide all our beloved listeners as to how this program is completely centered around them and how this is going to take their life to the next level. You know I want to you take center stage here John, and tell all our listeners the real truth. What we have in store for them?

John Harricharan: What we have here Vish is an interesting amazing situation. All my life I have been sharing and helping, and teaching others that there are different ways to reach and just acquire the things you want, to have peace and joy, happiness, all good things. But many times I bumped into so many people who -- they hit the wall.

They find themselves in closed rooms, and they are pushing against the door to open the door to get out without realizing that it’s very simple. All they have to do is step back, pull in the door and it will open because you do not pushing the door to open it when the door opens to the inside.

I have read and followed and probably, have been the friend of many, many of the teachers who tended to teach spirituality. As you know, my contention is, we don’t have to search for spirituality, it’s like searching for air, its right here. All we have to do is breathe it. All we have to do is to be aware of it and yet that simple situation usually is so difficult to find for many.

So people run after every book you can think of, after every new guru. I saw this happen in the 60s and the 70s and the 80s. And today, they run after everyone who is teaching something. They might be teaching a magical this or a mysterious that, or the power of this or the power of that. And its like a all the struggle to find and to search and to really, really spend a lot of energy and time when the very things you want are around you.

Now, I’m not proponent of secrets. And let me put it this way, I think the greatest secret in the universe is that there are really no secrets. Just like rule no one for success is there are no rules. Rule no two, if you feel like subscribing to rules then realize that if you do not like the rules you can change the rules. So we can go on and on with all these things but there is a need today.

There is a real desire in the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of people to find what I call century, or a place or a state of mind, where instead of having to solve their problems they find it that their problems are capable of solving themselves if the person gets himself or herself out of the way. This is why I though when you talk to me Vish about this project you probably remember that I said, "No, I’m not interested in doing any of these things."

A. Vishwanath: Yes.

John Harricharan: But you kept after me, remember. We talked about it and I -- finally you convinced me that this is something we should do.

A. Vishwanath: Yes.

John Harricharan: And it became in my mind a primary topic, a primary goal to create a novices, a place where people can come and just by going there, looking at something, reading something, watching a movie or a few minutes of a video, listening to the audio or just reading an article, or hearing an interview that there will be change in their reality field.

And when the change occurs in the field, their thoughts will change, they will change, success will become even simpler and easier to achieve, problems will seem to disappear into -- then here -- now, this might seem to have a quality of magic about it. And I want to tell you that I have always believe that the universe is a magical place. It’s the giant gift giving machine. The problem is many times we don’t know what to ask for, because we aren’t sure of who we are. You see what I mean by this.

A. Vishwanath: Yes.

The law of attraction and how to become debt free

Using the Law of Attraction to become debt free may well be your first step to a better financial future!

Statistics have shown that many people do not know how many credit cards they have in their wallets and last year more than 1.5 million Americans have filed for personal bankruptcy. This has been a considerable increase in bankruptcy cases from the year before.

Many people experiencing a heavy financial burden. If this has been your experience you can get help when using the Law of Attraction to get out of debt once and for all.

The Law of Attraction is a cosmic law that work every time and that works exact. There are no exceptions. The knowledge of the Law of Attraction can now help you to turn your financial situation around . You can become debt free forever! But do not expect things to happen just overnight. Everything is a process. It took some time to get you were you are right at this minute when it comes to your financial situation. You did not accumulate this debt overnight. So do not expect it to go away overnight. With determination and consistency you can however make some big changes when it comes to your finances.

Many people have already used this ancient knowledge since the Secret DVD was first aired. Even Oprah and Larry King Live have had talk shows on the same subject. So more and more people are familiar with this law and how it works. There are many books written on it also. You can even right there in the comfort of your own home in just a few minutes learn a great deal abut the Law of Attraction.

The Law of Attraction is also called the Law of Love. Love is the highest vibration in this universe that is why love is so important. The way you are vibrating has everything to do with the things that you are attracting into your life. You may not believe this but it is true! You may have been unconsciously attracting the debts into your life experience.

So what can you do to make this a total turn around when using the Law of Attraction?

Here are just 3 simple steps that will get you started to a debt free future:

1. Sit down and make a list of all your debts. Write down you the name of the credit card company, retail store, and any other credit you owe. Next to the name write down the amount that you owe and then make room for the amount of interest that you are paying at this time. Then take out another piece of paper that is blank. Tape the blank piece of paper and write as a headline credits successfully paid off and tape it on the left hand side of your computer the list with all your credits, owed amounts and interests on the right hand side of your computer. Now you can see with one look at everything you owe. As you pay off the smallest owed credit first write this down on the blank sheet of paper on your left side of the computer and check it on the list on the right side of your computer. Make a new list every three month or every quarter of the year. Compare it with the first list and see for yourself how every month gets you closer to your goal of being debt free. You can see how the amounts owed and the interest that you are paying every month getting smaller. Every time you are able to write another credit off write it on the sheet on the left side. This helps you visually to keep up with your finances.

2. Along with this you want to get started in reprogramming your mind to make better choices when it comes to financial matters. You can do this by learning through books how rich people think. When you want to spend money or buy something think before you go ahead with the purchase. Ask yourself how often would you use this item and do you really need this item. This may help prevent you from impulse buying. When using the Law of Attraction you will learn more about yourself and how you can change thought patterns that are not helpful when it comes to money

Meditation helps you to work along with your subconscious mind to become a person that is debt free and takes full control over financial matters.

There is a heap of information available on meditation and how it works best for you.

3. Affirmations are also important when using the Law of Attraction to become debt

free. Do not focus on how much you owe but think about how it feels to be a person without debts. This may be difficult to imagine for you but you need to try it. Remember that the Law of Attraction only responds to your feelings and emotions, so you want your feelings and emotions to match with what you want!

Feel debt free and financial independent even if the current financial situation is very different! You already have taken care of your list now you can set up a reasonable payment plan and stick to it. Do not sit down and worry constantly about it but look into the future at a time when your debts are not a reality anymore. Try to avoid t making the same mistakes. Learn from your current situation. Continue to use the power of the Law of Attraction and get the mind of a money magnet. Keep focused on that and you will succeed!

Learn more about the Law of Attraction and make it work for you!

Helpful memory aids for memorization

For over many centuries now, memory techniques have evolved in which how they are used and learned by people. We all know that the process of remembering information is called ‘mnemonics’. We also know that mnemonics isn’t similar to magic tricks but due to its proven efficiency, it’s considered a technique pertaining to memorization.

If you haven’t realized yet how our memory works, a person’s memory effectively functions to how it associates objects and information. But of course, what we need to practice at is how we focus on things and such and eventually associate or link them with other information that enable us to remember what we need to remember.

One way of how to remember things easily is to rhyme words. How do you think we’re able to carry riddles and rhymes during our nursery years in school up to the later years of our lives? Just reading this question alone makes you remember one or two nursery rhymes you’ve learned, right? This also answers how toddlers are able to cope with what they learn in school at this very early stage of their lives. This is also the very reason why rhymes are considered as common memory aids.

Another effective memory technique is the use of initials or the first letter of the word. For example, for a group of items, you can take each first letter and make a word out of it. Remember ROY G. BIV? If you do, you’d know right away that this is not a name of a person but it stands for the seven colors of the rainbow - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Notice how you have easily recognized the initials? Now you’re nodding.

You need not to make a name always out of the initials from a set of items. You can make a word or anything which can easily help you recognize the words equivalent to items. But in some cases, there might be too little number of vowels versus the consonants. Let’s have the items pasta, rye, fish, cheese and table. Together they look like this: PRFCT. We can add the letter E in between the initials to make it a word; in this case, it can be read now as PERFECT. Of course, when you remember the word PERFECT, you’d easily recognize which item stands for each consonant. Simple? Yes.

There are many other ways how to enhance your memory skills. Interesting and effective memorization techniques can be found at memory-improvement-techniques. com.

Phobia what is a phobia

Phobia is a derivative of the Greek word “phobos”, meaning fear. It does seem however, to have two different definitions. Here are a couple of examples: a) an extremely intense and overwhelming sense of fear with regard to a specific stimulus or b) an intense dislike or hatred of something.

Here are a couple of examples: Arachnophobia is an intense fear of spiders. I know a few people that have this particular phobia and I find it quite disturbing to watch just how they react upon sighting one. This reaction can even present itself when they view a picture of one or see one on TV. It’s obvious that spiders cause them a great deal of discomfort.

Homophobia is a fear of homosexuals. Here we see a different interpretation of the word phobia. In this case it means an intense dislike or hatred toward homosexuals rather than an intense and overwhelming fear that would invoke terror in the heart of the homophobic.

So, what is the difference between a phobia and a fear? Most people have fears of one kind or another. Fears of: examinations, speaking in public, etc. etc. In fact, I have a fear of public speaking. A couple of times in my life, I’ve been asked to stand up in front of a crowded room and give a talk on a specific subject. As I recall, just prior to walking out onto the stage, my hands started to sweat, I felt anxious and my legs turned almost to jelly. These feelings are normal and, once I got out there and into my stride, I started to feel good and, as I did, the anxiety along with my sweaty hands and jelly legs disappeared. Now, if I had a phobia about speaking in public, then, wild horses wouldn’t have got me onto that stage in front of all those people.

How do I know this? Well, I was agoraphobic for twenty odd years and I have first-hand experience of what it feels like to have a phobia. To give a very brief definition, agoraphobia is a fear of panic attacks. Having experienced several panic episodes whilst travelling, I eventually gave up going outside altogether and became housebound.

Until quite recently, phobias were incurable. The only relief that could be offered was in the form of medication but, under normal circumstances, this would only be administered if the phobia were such that it restricted the sufferer’s life. However, nowadays there is a system that will allow a person to overcome their phobias and take back control of their life once more. I used this system to say goodbye to my panic attacks and agoraphobia for good.

Is opportunity knocking at your door right now

Bill Gates is quoted as saying "there has never been a time like the present, with so many opportunities". It's almost like the California gold rush, only its so much bigger, because of the global reach of the Internet and other global technologies. The possibilities are endless.

Everybody is "looking" for opportunities, but very see it and even fewer exploit it. There's the now famous story of the two men who visited India together. Upon their arrival in India one of the men was so struck and rather appalled by the abject poverty of the masses. His companion however, saw something else.

He saw an opportunity, an opportunity to shoe millions of feet and make himself a fortune in the process.

This man is said to have gone on and established a shoe company which produced millions of shoes and made him a very wealthy man.

There are thousands of other similar stories, of people who turned what seemed to be somebody's problem into a fortune, including the story of South African born Hotel magnate Sol Kerzner.

Kerzner turned an Island in the Bahamas which was considered only good enough to be used as a rubbish dump, into what is today known as the resort Island, Atlantis.

Opportunities come disguised in many forms and shapes. They may come disguised as hard work, hardships, difficulties

and obstacles. When you see them as opportunities and take them, who knows where you may end up?

Consider this: You may say I'm not going to knock on that door, because I don't like knocking on doors. The person opening that door may give you the big break you have been looking for, but you may just have missed it forever. After allhow could you have guessed? That's right! You couldn't have.

Ever heard someone say, "It was a blessing in disguise"?

There are opportunities to make money, opportunities for happiness but there are also opportunities for personal growth. Opportunities to discover what you are capable of, to turn weaknesses into strengths. Oportunities to help others and help yourself in the process. There are opportunities to bless and be blessed in return.

Do you see all these opportunities? And if you do, do you take them? Or are you like those people who are only looking for that one big opportunity that will turn you into an instant millionaire.

Sun Tzu puts it so eloquently when he says, "opportunities multiply as they are seized". People who disregard all other opportunity, while waiting for that one big opportunity don't know what they are missing. They may in fact be missing the big opportunity itself, because you never know where every opportunity may take you, if you embrace it.

However there's one thing I know, won't get you anywhere. And that is sitting in your comfort chair, trying to figure out which is opportunity and which is not.

So, here is my advice, try everything and test everything. So what, if you failed or if things didn't work out. You have would have learned at least one thing. That particular venture isn't worthwhile or the method doesn't work. Don't allow your own cynicism or that of other people rob you of what may potentially be your biggest and best opportunity.

What is your role as a parent to help prevent drug abuse

The drug called Ecstasy/MDMA is just one of several that children as young as 8th graders are abusing. Ecstasy is a human-made drug taken orally as a capsule or tablet. The short-term effects include feelings of mental stimulation, emotional warmth, enhanced sensory perception, and increased physical energy. Adverse health effects can include nausea, chills, sweating, teeth clenching, muscle cramping, and blurred vision.

If you suspect or find out your child is actually abusing this drug or is involved in any kind of drug abuse what steps can you take to help them overcome the addictions?

A family-based prevention program should include:

1. Enhanced family bonding and relationships;

2. Education for parents to learn parenting skills;

3. Developing, discussing and enforcing family policies on substance abuse;

What is family bonding?

Family bonding is the foundation of the relationship between parents and children. You can strengthen your family bonds through skills training on parent supportiveness of children, parent-child communication, and parental involvement.

Feminization hypnotism

The truth remains that even if we now live in modern age, people tend to remain critical on gender issues. Although transsexuals are gaining acceptance, they have yet to earn enough understanding and respect. As these individuals become more and more aggressive in expressing their personalities, they continue to come up with more ideas and practices. One of which is feminization.

Feminization is an effort to transform a male’s appearance, behavior and thinking into that of a female. It could either be temporary or permanent. It is consciously trying to adapt feminine traits such as speech and behavior. Some common types are Forced Feminization and Hypnotic Feminization.

Forced feminization is when a male is instructed to adapt feminine ways against his will. It emphasizes the dominance of the female over the male – contrary to societal standards. Through this practice, the female gets to obtain personal satisfaction over gaining power over her subject. It is done through instructing the male to follow her directions; usually controlling the way he should act, think, and behave. The male is asked to portray the role of a typical feminine character. As the subject refuses to follow her demands, corresponding punishment shall be given to him.

An example is through physical contact such as through spanking and other stereotypical acts. He is asked to wear feminine clothing which are suggestive and provoking in nature such as undergarments. It is stated in some studies that refusal is usually unrealistic as the role-playing and submission secretly feeds on his fantasies and desires. But there are also cases where feminization is practiced as a form of abuse as in the case of sex slaves.

Contrary to forced feminization, hypnotic feminization involves a voluntary participation of the male. As per suggestions of the expert, he is then allowed to enjoy a particular fantasy. This environment usually evolves around being able to experience the feelings, thoughts, and even the physical traits of a female such as actually believing that you have breasts or female genital. It is a make-believe atmosphere where you could have somewhat realistic feelings and experiences. Hypnosis ends as per direction of the hypnosis expert.

The more conservative in us are yet to understand the reasons why some individuals undergo feminization. Feminization continues to create moral questions and it would take more than open mindedness and accepting gender issues. It may be a setback for transsexuals in gaining understanding but the fact exists that this practice exists.

A matter of becoming still - spirituality information

When I was much younger, I thought that education would be the answer to all my problems, so I went about obtaining degrees. I collected a good number of them including a summa cum laude degree in chemistry and mathematics, and an MBA among others. But I found that my education, even though it helped tremendously, did not bring real satisfaction. So I put the certificates and diplomas in the bathroom under glass and wrote, "Break in Case of Emergency."

Then I started working for Fortune 500 companies and became intrigued with those who frequented the boardrooms of power and fame. And though a part of me was fascinated, thrilled and even enjoyed the trappings of power, there was something that was missing, which I couldn't put my finger on. My heart and spirit were crying out for something that I couldn't find in major corporations.

Still searching for the "Holy Grail" I became an entrepreneur and built a very successful, multi-national business with offices in the United States, the Caribbean, Africa, India and the United Kingdom. Life seemed good. I traveled the world, wined and dined with leaders of industry and even leaders of countries. I was treated as a prince, but still it all felt empty and useless.

Wherever I sought for peace and prosperity and happiness, I'd find prosperity without the peace or I'd discover abundance without the happiness. Finally, one day, as I sat on my wife's deathbed (she was only in her thirties when she died), it became clear to me that my happiness, peace and prosperity were not dependent on anything external, but on that which was within me, that which had always been with me from my very first day on Earth.

So I started to look within me and discovered a wonderland beyond imagination. I realized that the one spiritual practice more important than all the others that could bring me peace, happiness and prosperity was the practice of going into the "silence" deep within me. Some call it meditation or prayer, others refer to it as contemplation or centering oneself. I do not know what it should be called, but I think of it as the "silence".

In the great silence within, I become renewed, refreshed and excited to face the physical world. When I return from my moments of silence or meditation, I feel great waves of joy. I feel peaceful, secure and safe. Perhaps in the depths of my being, there is a place of beautiful silence where I meet my Creator and where I find renewal of body, mind and spirit. Perhaps true success and peace emanate from this silent sanctuary.

Many years ago, I wrote the following: "Whenever problems seem to get the best of me, whenever I feel them closing in on me, I go to a quiet place that lies somewhere in my soul. I do not reason, analyze or think. Those will come later. I simply go. From this place of silence, I garner strength and inspiration to stand firm in the face of fire, to be calm in the midst of thunder. When I emerge, the world has not changed, but I have. And in changing, a whole new world is born."

I find that is as true today as when I first wrote it or thought it. Success, whichever way we define it, whether by money standards, health or happiness standards, is not a game of chance. It springs from deep within us, from our deepest thoughts and beliefs. It has to do with our fears and hopes and it flows eternally from our spiritual center of gravity. Go into the silence within you. Try to do so a number of times each day. Let your true self speak to you. Listen to the "still, small voice", which is always there. You will find calm, peace and prosperity unknown in ordinary times. You'll find a new and joyous path opening ahead of you and you'll be delighted in the glorious adventures that await around the corner.

The motivation of second half thinking

Football matches are won or lost in the second half. It does not matter what code of football is being played, and it does not only apply to football. It is how you finish that counts – in any sport or competition or campaign. It applies to your life. Look at your life as one complete match or look at your current circumstance and assess where you are in terms of the half time break and begin now to strategize the finish.

I saw this very clearly on one occasion when I was playing a game of top level Rugby. The coach pulled us aside as a team at half time. This was now the quietest time of the match, not the time for noise and action. but the time for strategy for the next half.

We knew we could win, but we were behind at half time. We all felt we had something to say but the coach told us to shut up and listen. He reassured us that they had not penetrated our defense, they had just been lucky on penalties. He told us not to try and score points but to give them the ball and to run them down and then do our scoring.

That was when I learned that half time was the time to listen to that quiet inner voice, not the yells of the crowd or even your team mates. Let the coach talk. It is on the inside, in the locker room where you get the advice. It is on the inside, deep inside our hearts that most people either win or lose. It is on the inside that most organizations either fall apart or become strong, not from attacks from the outside. Usually we get stronger when we are attacked from the outside. I have never worried about that. It is the inside I want to keep safe from the attack of its own lack of faith and wisdom.

What I learned that half time was that what had got us to where we were was not the thing that was going to get us any further. It was now time to apply a finishing strategy.

We had, as a team been doing things right. We were good at executing the elemental skills of the game. But doing things right is a lot different to doing the right things. Doing things right is efficiency, but doing the right things is effectiveness. The coach did not guarantee us success, but he guaranteed us we would fail if we gave up, or did not adopt the right approach.

Whatever you do, always play hard. There are no soft games. And the goal is not always the score on the scoreboard – it is to reach your full potential. That is called destiny – and everybody has one. Second half play begins with low cost probes. You don’t try to win recklessly and end up losing. You will win when you are well set. So slow down and be deliberate – this is the second half. You will make it.

Half time is the time for inner motivation to drive you, not just some external reward. It is like seeing it in terms of a career and saying 'I would do what I’m doing for no pay, rather than, 'as long as they pay me enough I’ll do what they want’. That is when you know you want to do it and reach your potential.

Disolve your problems with hypnosis

As a hypnotherapist, I have always found that one key element in making my free hypnosis induction scripts sound great when they are delivered is the quality of the background music. It can really set the theme of relaxation, and even if after seeing a client, I use a different hypnosis script, the music will still be the same. This reminds the mind of the hypnotic patient of what it is expected to do - that is, it is time to relax.

Our free hypnosis induction scripts have now been recorded and added to our website. There is some wonderful royalty free relaxation music in the background and the voice that you hear on the audio, is Gemma Bailey, qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP trainer.

The audios can be downloaded and saved to your computer. This means that you can use them at any time that suits you, by either listening on your computer or by adding the file to you I-pod or MP3 player. You could even request the file on CD or if it is easier for you to do so, you can burn the audio onto CD yourself.

The quality of the audio’s is quite simply fully professional. You can buy the audio scripts and see what is included in them. And if the audio you require is not listed, simply contact the team and they will put together the hypnosis induction script of your choice.

Obviously when listening to a hypnotic audio it is essential to do so in as peaceful an environment as possible. You should never listen to the hypnotherapy mp3s whilst driving operating machinery as this would be dangerous. However, at peaceful and appropriate times the hypnosis induction audios are perfectly safe to use. It is not known what level of trance you will go into a trance, but you will remain safe and alerted to anything that needs your immediate attention. There is also a message at the end of the audio that ensures you will be fully and completely wide awake and back to your normal everyday state, except perhaps feeling more refreshed and relaxed than before, with those subtle positive changes beginning to happen, even at a cellular level.

I personally like to use my hypnosis audios, in a quite house, whilst laying back in a comfortable chair, but it doesn’t have to be this way. You can be in a trance on a train on your way to work, you can be in a trance when on your lunch break in your office you can even be standing up and in a trance. What really matter is that you are able to concentrate. In fact, someone once told me that there are just 3 skills required to create trance in any human being. Concentration, Imagination and cooperation. Hypnotherapy - the best complimentary therapy

It is my belief that hypnotherapy is the best complimentary therapy because hypnosis affects people at every level including psychological, physiological, emotional, and even spiritual. And really, only hypnotherapy has the power to do that.

It allows you to work on specific problems one by one, but at the same time, it can improve your overall health and well-being in several areas concurrently. Some people seek hypnotherapy to address a specific area while others seek the overall benefits of hypnosis on a regular, ongoing basis. Many people use hypnosis alone while others supplement it with other forms of therapy.

Although every form of therapy is valuable on its own, there is a definite overlap within all methods of treatment. What hypnosis does is it provides a link and it connects those areas together physiologically.

Whether you are in physical therapy recovering from an injury, or in psychotherapy due to emotional stress, it doesn’t matter. Hypnosis can compliment either or both of those treatments, because hypnosis has the power to affect all those areas in a positive way. So in compliment to your physical therapy, it can help you cope on an emotional level with the strain of the injury.

If you are trying acupuncture to help you quit smoking, there is a specific technique that addresses your physical need for nicotine, but acupuncture alone does little to tackle the psychological craving, the mental tug of war that plays out in the early stages of breaking any pattern of long standing, habitual behaviour. Hypnotherapy can compliment the acupuncture by addressing the psychological need for relief.

Another excellent example of combined therapy is the effect of aromatherapy. When I tried an aromatherapy massage, there is no question I was subdued into total relaxation. It was a fantastic experience in itself, and in my case, I actually achieved hypnosis. It’s beneficial by itself, or it can be used as an aide for inducing hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy utilizes a mixture of different models that people are already exerting; they’re just made more powerful when used with hypnosis. Nearly all therapies are successful at producing change in a specific area. Hypnotherapy simply produces change in more areas. This fact makes it the best complimentary therapy in addition to being an excellent stand alone treatment for many problems, specific or combined.

It is important to remember that hypnotherapy is not intended to replace modern medicine or in any way refute its effectiveness. You may choose to use hypnotherapy alone instead of mainstream treatment for whatever condition you are addressing, and that’s a personal choice any individual can make, but it’s not our mandate as hypnotherapists to replace modern medicine, nor do we suggest that hypnosis ever could.

Alternative medicine, which is quite commonly used these days, is very much positioned to offer people a different way to address their health issues. It essentially opposes traditional medicine, by offering stand alone treatments that would directly conflict with traditional treatment and cannot be safely or effectively combined. I would absolutely not place hypnotherapy in that category. Hypnotherapists are not in competition with doctors and health care workers, and we do not suggest that anyone abandon their medical practitioner in favour of hypnotherapy.

By contrast, I believe that hypnosis is an excellent companion to modern medicine. We tend to forget that hypnosis has been used for many years by doctors and health care professionals like psychologists. It in no way undermines the effectiveness of modern treatment. Rather, it can compliment it quite naturally and quite effectively.

For instance, if you are trying to quit smoking, hypnotherapy alone can help immensely, but if you are also using the patch, then you are increasing your odds of success. There is no conflict… one treatment works extremely well with the other.

If you are taking any type of treatment for a medical condition and you find yourself struggling with the side effects, you can turn to hypnotherapy to alleviate the intensity of the side effects and increase you tolerance of the medication, so that it can do its job.

The word alternative suggests that we are looking for a different way of doing things. We’re not. We’re looking to provide a means for the improved physical and mental health of anyone and everyone who needs it. I believe that modern medicine is already doing that. I also believe that hypnotherapy is the ultimate complimentary therapy and can help in so many ways.
