Learn the italian language with ease

Pasta, Ti Amo, Prego are three words from Italy. Italy’s language is called Italian and learning this language is more like reading every English syllables of every word. The Italian language is fairly easy to understand and learn since some words can be recognized easily the moment it is mentioned. Some Italian words are even used now by millions of people across the globe.

Interested to learn the Italian language? If you are, good for you then. Learning another language other than a person’s mother tongue helps enhance a person’s memory capabilities and thinking skills. Unfortunately, many people give up too early by the minute they go through Lesson One of their Italian books or Audio materials. This shouldn’t be the case since learning is not an easy and quick process. Surely you didn’t graduate from high school without going through all the required subjects and passing grades right? Why learning a foreign language is any different?

Still, we can’t ignore the fact that not everyone is willing to sit down and read Italian books. The good thing about this century is that millions of people can access whatever information they want by using the Internet. This is where the good stuff comes from too. If you are a busy person who can’t spare time in going to universities to learn a foreign language or even immerse yourself on another country, search for foreign language learning programs from the internet.

Another thing, you need not to stick to old memorization techniques like repetition since your memory will most likely fail you with this type of method. What you can do instead is to carry around a picture dictionary while you read an Italian children’s book. Why a children’s book? Because you start from the basics and it’s easier to learn the correct usage and order of words. Watching a movie with Italian subtitles can also enhance your listening skills in association to the words on the screen.

To easily remember Italian words versus the English interpretation, you simply can associate the words to a funny event or situation. Remember we mentioned awhile ago that learning another language enriches your brain and it applies to this method. Let’s try to imagine a lazy donkey. The donkey is too lazy to eat or take a bath but is never lazy to play card games even if it has to play at the last casino open in town. If you haven’t guessed it yet, the word donkey from the English vocabulary and l’asino in Italian are the example words used. Crazy, right?

This example is just one easy and efficient way how to learn and memorize the Italian language and other international languages as well. Check learn-italian-program. com for more Italian words.

St. louis schools

St. Louis Schools are currently faced with a crisis that summer vacation has helped to alleviate. The student population has overwhelmed this school district and forced many St. Louis Schools to shut their doors to incoming students. St. Louis Schools lack the space in classrooms to take on any more children due to an ongoing struggle against failing schools. The number of failing schools reached a critical point this year and has forced the state of Missouri into a tense situation.

Several St. Louis Schools have failed to be certified due to their test grades. They lack accreditation and students transferring out of these failing schools should be placed in schools still in operation. However, a bill to force remaining St. Louis Schools to accept the new students was defeated in Missouri legislature. As surviving St. Louis Schools shut their doors to more students, people are beginning to look to virtual education alternatives. Of the 23 regular St. Louis Schools, 10 have publicly denied accommodation to any more students due to lack of room. But internet classroom space will be unlimited.

If the court agrees, the unaccredited status in St. Louis School District will take place officially on June 15 and 30 days afterward, the district may appeal the decision. If the status is maintained, the district will be forced to pay for the tuition and expenses of all successfully transferred students. As a district in transition, the governing of school affairs has been delegated to a new three-person panel. St. Louis Schools that have failed may be presented with the chance to redeem themselves if they can become independently accredited. The process for such accreditation is rigorous, invites outside evaluation, and requires high student performance.

If St. Louis becomes an unaccredited school district, the state will fully take over school operations. The state is authorized to intervene when a district becomes unable to help itself or continue functioning. In order to protect the welfare of its students, the state may authorize a three person governing board. This preliminary action has been taken in St. Louis and the school district is in transition. The St. Louis Schools’ District is expected to be officially in transition for six years. Hopefully, this allotted time will be sufficient to make the district healthy enough to self sustain in the future. The three person board has currently set these goals for itself: they hope to create an academic accountability plan, explore alternative forms of district government, work with nonprofit organizations to keep St. Louis Schools operating, and rehabilitate the learning facilities in the St. Louis area.

School improvement is much needed in St. Louis Schools. When asked about the problems students might face with college acceptance, and college scholarships, officials said only that it should not be a problem. However, graduating from an unaccredited high school does worry both parents and students of St. Louis Schools. It’s a long road ahead for administrators, educators and students.

Ensuring the viability of a home school diploma

In this society, hard work towards a specific goal generally culminates in a celebration when that goal is achieved; there is no better example than that of graduation from school. A milestone of every school-aged child, graduation means the end of twelve years of schooling and the opportunity to go on to higher education in pursuit of a career. But when you home school a child, it is important to ensure that their home school diploma is accredited and acknowledged.

Children today often face the challenge of low-quality education, overcrowded classrooms, or programs ill-equipped to meet their particular educational needs. In such circumstances, or in an instance where a traditional public or private school does not offer a learning environment in line with a family’s religious or cultural beliefs, the parents of these children are often moved to implement a home school program. In most states, the only requirements to provide home schooling is the desire to do so and the commitment to offering consistent and quality instruction in keeping with the educational guidelines set forth by the state and particular school district. Parents offering home schooling do so with the help of specially designed curriculum to keep students on par with the lessons being traditionally taught in their grade level. And in many cases, the quality of education achieved through home schooling not only matches – but surpasses – the traditional in-school education.

Parents or qualified instructors have a responsibility to ensure that the students in their care are meeting the educational benchmarks set forth by the state. But when schooling comes to an end, it is also vitally important to ensure that the home school diploma will be recognized by the school district, and subsequently by any colleges or universities to which the student may apply. Each particular state has home school guidelines that explain the procedure necessary to provide an accredited home school education that will earn a student a recognized home school diploma.

No less impressive than a diploma received through a traditional school program, the home school diploma celebrates the hard work of a student and represents the beginning of a whole new chapter in life.

Learn italian and its origin

The Italian language has developed from its ancestor, Latin, during the 13th and 14th century. Though Italian shares about 85% of similarities to the Spanish and French languages, it is still easier to pronounce. Each word is pronounced exactly as how it is spelled.

However, the Italian language has many sub categories and these are called the Italian dialects. Each town in Italy has different Italian language but the good thing about it is that the Modern Italian language has spread to countries like Somalia. A misunderstanding often happens between an Italian speaking person (not a pure Italian) and an Italian native. This is because the Italian native may have been born in a different district in Italy and the language he could be using is not the standard Italian language but one of the Italian dialects from towns that lie on the outskirt of Italy.

There is still a chance to learn the standard Italian language easy and fast. By using very simple memorization technique, a person can master Italian words even if it just takes a 10 to 15 minute session each day. Below is an example.

The pink ballerina elephant leads the dance and closes the show and receives a whale of applause from the elephant audience.

This method is called Link-Word. This is a memorization technique use to enhance a person’s memory. The idea is to link all the Italian word and its English meaning in one absurd story. Only that the Italian word is replaced by another English word that sounds much like the Italian term.

Italian = Balena

English word used = ballerina

English translation = whale

What’s good about this technique is that it can be used by anyone, of any age. It is a brain exercise which is safe for anybody to try. And it’s all natural too.

Milwaukee schools claims right direction

Schools come up with action plans every day. In fact, the Milwaukee Schools recently announced the adoption of an action plan that is designed to make its students competitive with some of the best schools in the country. The plan, designated “Working Together, Achieving More,” was adopted by the board of Milwaukee Schools in July 2007. But gauging whether a plan means real change, or just a good press release isn’t always easy. The Milwaukee Public Schools plan is meant to be acted on immediately, but it claims to provide for years of improvement. In it the school board lays out benchmarks for success for the years 2007 through 2012.

Entire Community Bands Together to Improve Milwaukee Schools

The committee that researched and designed this new plan was not made up of a bunch of academics with little experience in the classroom or the “real world.” In fact, input was asked for from many different areas. Educators, administrators, researchers, business leaders, families and many others worked together to come up with a plan designed to put Milwaukee Schools on the map. I’d say that this is a point in their favor.

Milwaukee Schools Dedicated to Doing “Whatever it Takes.”

The new plan, “Working Together, Achieving More” takes some direction from No Child Left Behind and similar acts that are aimed at reaching every student. The plan’s mission statement is that all students of Milwaukee Schools will achieve success in higher education and career, and more importantly will become responsible citizens of Milwaukee and the world at large. Mission statements are always well intended. It’s accomplishing the mission that’s the hard part.

In order to become a high performing urban school, Milwaukee Schools has set certain goals for itself. Some of these include:

1. Meeting or exceeding the standards set by the state. This would be calculated by scores on state exams and by certain benchmarks in reading and math.

2. Becoming real communities of learning and building upon the idea of PLC or Professional Learning Communities. This allows educators planned time to work together within disciplines and across disciplines in addition to work outside of the school with community members and leaders.

3. Continued improvement and professional development for ALL staff of Milwaukee Schools, not just teachers. Administrators and bus drivers would be held to certain standards of improvement as well.

4. Being accountable for any shortcomings. This would include action plans for addressing those weak points. This is where the ideas of NCLB come in.

5. Being supportive of families. This includes all staff of any particular school and the district as a whole. This is designed to make families feel like a welcome and important part of the public schools.

If Milwaukee Schools really want to be competitive they have a long way to go. Any urban school district faces a lot of problems from overcrowding to under-funding to drugs to disinterested parents to…By committing to a long-term action plan, Milwaukee Schools has taken an important step. If they truly put their money where their mouth is, this district might achieve its ultimate goal: to make Milwaukee Schools the first choice of every parent.
