You are big brother

Remember 1984? Not the year, but the novel, which ominously described a society in which Big Brother is always watching you. It may have taken a few decades after 1984, but today, it does appear that no matter where you go or what you do, you at least run the risk of being watched and viewed. And, depending on what you’re actually doing, watched and viewed can easily transmogrify into caught and exposed.

It’s no secret that we live in a 24 hour world now. With technology making communication such a simple and instant affair, we can talk to anyone at anytime, regardless of wherever they live or whatever time zone they dwell in. And because we are living in a state where there is a constant flow of information and news, people are now becoming aware that what you do today may soon be plastered all over the internet within a matter of hours.

Cellular phones, primarily were designed to make communication mobile and instant. Rather than needing to get a quarter, than locate a pay phone to make a call, you could just pull out your cell phone and dial instantly. But, cell phones soon became a tool used to report, rather than just to talk. Now, of course, if you have a cell phone and you see someone in distress and who needs assistance, you should definitely make that call. But, now there are eyewitness reports coming from cell phone callers of the most trivial things. Again, is that really necessary?

Add to that fact that cell phones, and most portable electronic devices are now equipped with digital video cameras. Today, everyone can be a roving eyewitness reporter and get live, first-hand footage of any event just by turning on the cell phone and hitting the record button. From disasters like Hurricane Katrina to the Michael Richards meltdown, events, news and things that aren’t so newsworthy were being caught and recorded on video cameras that are popping up just about everywhere.

And once it’s on a digital video camcorder, the next logical step for it to go to will be online and on the internet. The internet is now the world’s news network, and anyone who uploads a video or file onto the web is now a reporter. Everyone is watching everyone else, and everyone can’t wait to tell everyone else what everyone else is doing. That is the essence of our completely connected technological world.

Some top hobbies of retirees

Retiring is a point in life that a lot of people look forward to, although most find that they are not really prepared for it. It is not so much the financial or security aspects of retiring that people today struggle with; instead, it is realizing just how much time they have on their hands once work is no longer a part of the weekly equation! Of course, many retirees will fill this extra time with travel or with “work that isn’t really work” (volunteering, babysitting, even part time jobs in totally unrelated fields to what the retiree was doing before), but many find that hobbies are also an essential part of staying vital after retirement.

For many, retirement hobbies are something that were enjoyed during working life but that retirement allows them to focus on even more. Retirees should keep in mind that no matter how much they love any one activity, the opportunity to concentrate on that hobby consistently may mean that they grow tired of it. It is important, therefore, to have a range of hobbies during the retirement years. Here is a list of some of the most popular activities pursued by people after they retire.

Bird Watching

Although the title is still contested by gardening and amateur photography, bird watching has been demonstrated to be the most popular hobby in America today. The retired community is no exception, and bird watching combines both a great hobby and an opportunity to travel. Like any good hobby, bird watching can be as involved or as casual as the participant wishes, with high quality equipment available as well as hundreds of different resources. Clubs are available all over the United States, and of course anywhere a person travels there is opportunity to watch a new species.

Gardening

Gardening remains a steady favorite among retirees. It is a way to get outside, get exercise, create something through hard work, and add to your pantry or your home dйcor alike. Gardeners in locations that are not temperate, of course, will have to deal with four or five months of the year being unsuitable to their past time (unless of course they are also enthusiasts of indoor gardens and greenhouses). Still, the opportunities during the growing months are staggering; planting, tending, fertilizing and finally harvesting gardens can mean hours and hours of peace. Opportunities to enter produce and floral arrangements in fall fairs or other county celebrations also allow people to show off their craft.

Wine

Nothing has exploded world wide in the last few years in a bigger way than wine. No longer just a beverage, wine is now a commodity. For many, this hobby does not just involve redoing their basements into cellars, but also making sure that they have all the best accessories and display cases for their collections. Like bird watching, it is also a hobby that can be taken all over the world; there are many popular vacation spots that also offer dozens of wineries to be toured and tasted at. Wine enthusiasts never have a shortage of opportunity as just a trip to a local restaurant is an occasion to indulge the past time!

There are dozens of other hobbies that retirees find are a great way to invest their well earned leisure time. Photography, golf, various table games, fishing, collecting, and crafts all remain popular among retirees. A strong combination of several different hobbies will mean a very busy retirement!

Reading vibrations of name numerology

Numerology in simple terms is referred to as the traditional beliefs and systems that are mystical in nature. Numerology helps us to establish a relationship between the various physical objects and the numbers. These numbers range from one to nine. Long time back, numerology was considered as a part of mathematics, but now it is not.

Since ages, numerology has been playing an important role everywhere in our lives. The same holds true with our names. The names given to us by our parents or our grand parents find an important place in the field of numerology. These names are not mere a way to address or distinguish us from the other people that are present around us, but to a great extent, are a deciding factor of our personality and our future developments in general.

Any name, be it a word or a title has a particular kind of vibration attached to it. The reason being that every alphabet in our name has a certain number associated with it. These numbers in turn carry some particular vibrations with them. Thus adding on all the numbers that are associated with the alphabets of our names, gives various vibrating modules, which in turn are added up to give a final vibration pattern.

For instance the name Tina has four distinct alphabets. Each of these alphabets are associated with some number. Read T as one, I as seven, N as five and A as nine. Now by adding all these numbers we get a total of 22. So there must be some particular wavelength of vibration that is being attached to this number 22. Therefore this 22 number and the vibrations associated with it is the deciding factor of the over all personality of Tina.

Parents while keeping a name for their new born child, ponder on all the options available to them. They consult their relatives and also the learned-men. And once name gets decided, the child is addressed by it. As the vibrations of the names starts to reach the ears of the child very frequently, he tries to encode the meanings behind the vibrations and accordingly tries to understand the environment around him.

Every vibration has some particular behavioral trends and patterns associated with it. And once your name has been decided, these vibrations start having an effect on you and guide you towards a particular path. Therefore name numerology considerably helps us to know a person's personality and development in the future. These future developments can be things like their studies, their health, their carrier growth and their life in general.

What is tarot astrology

Tarot astrology is the system through which a reading of the cards in a tarot deck help you through troubled times by offering a reflection on your past, present and future. Tarot is closely associated with astrology as each card relates to a planet, element, or astrological sign.

Tarot cards are used for divination, often known as fortune telling. But, many psychologists have used them as well, feeling that the cards often make patients delve in to how they feel about themselves. This is done through the subconscious. For example, let’s say you know work is not going well, but you do not allow yourself to think about it. Getting a tarot card reading that shows you need to change occupations is not really telling your future so much as it is making you face what is really going on in your life.

A tarot card deck consists of 78 cards that fall into two distinctive parts. The first part is called the Major Arcana. This part of the deck has 22 cards, 21 suitless cards referred to as trumps and one card called The Fool. It is believed that these cards represent different stages of life that we go through. Many are recognizable such as the Magician (associated with the planet Mercury), the Lovers (associated with the astrological sign Gemini), and the Death card (associated with Scorpio).

The other 56 cards are in the Minor Arcana. Arcana is taken from the Latin word “akanum,” meaning secret. The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits, just like regular playing cards. The four suits are the Cups, the Wands, the Swords, and the Pentacles. Each of these cards represents a certain element of the Earth and is associated with certain astrological signs. The Cups represent water and are associated most closely with Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. The Cups stand for emotions, spirituality, and the unconsciousness. The Wands represent fire and are associated with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The Wands stand for action, creativeness, and personal growth. The Swords represent air and are associated with Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius. The Swords stand for the mind, intelligence, and knowledge. The final suit, the Pentacles, represents earth itself and is associated with Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. The Pentacles stand for the physique, bodily experiences, and practicality. In addition to the four suits, there are also Court cards including the King, Queen, Prince, and Princess for each suit.

The Minor Arcana cards provide more details to the Major Arcana cards. The Major Arcana gives an individual direction and information about their personal life and emotional and mental state. The Minor Arcana cards offer additional guidance in areas such as relationships, activities, failures, and successes. The Major Arcana cards are seen as more spiritual while the Minor Arcana cards are seen as material.

Over the years, the interpretation of the cards has evolved. Modern decks of tarot cards are much more expressive that then earlier version, due in part to the pictures being more closely associated with their meaning. Tarot readers prize their cards and often will not let others touch them as they are viewed as sacred tools of their trade. Many card sets are often viewed as works of art because of the detailed pictures on each one.

Finding a psychic for a tarot reading is easy. If you are looking to visit a psychic in person, check in your local Yellow Pages under Psychic. If you live in a remote area or are leery of visiting a psychic in person, you can also get tarot card readings online. If you use your favorite Internet search engine to search on “free tarot reading,” you will find many sites appear. If you are leery that free readings might not be as accurate as paid reading, you can also find online psychics who will charge to do a reading. Some psychics will base their charges on how many questions you wish to ask about the reading while some will just charge a flat fee for so many minutes.

Whether you get a tarot card reading online or in person, there are several things you should keep in mind. The tarot card reading should not scare you, but rather give you a better understanding of yourself. They will help you with not only what your future holds, but also what is presently going on in your life. You should leave the reading with a positive attitude and feeling enlightened.

As you look for your wedding reception venue, be sure it is fitting theme for your wedding. Does it fit the theme of your wedding? The location of you wedding reception needs to reflect the style and personality of the bride and groom. In addition, it needs to be an enjoyable, memorable experience for the wedding guests.

Selecting a reception site will depend on its availability, price, location to the wedding ceremony site and its capacity. Having your ceremony and reception in the same location can save you money and stress! One of the most important factors to consider is capacity. If you can’t seat all you guest, it doesn’t matter how much you want a location. Only visit sites that can accommodate the number of guest you plan to invite. You should also be flexible when determining your wedding date. Chances are the venue you like is already booked for your date, but you may be able to secure it for following week. Most importantly you should feel comfortable at your own reception. Follow family traditions if those are important to you, but not because you feel pressured by family or guest expectations.

A whiff of medieval tapestries

For lovers of home dйcor, tapestries are an ideal choice to lighten up a dull corner, to add beauty and grandeur to a room or simply bring forth a piece of history into their living rooms. For the latter option medieval tapestries are the perfect choice. Medieval tapestries are those, which have replications of medieval artistry and a piece of history attached to them such as these european-wall-tapestries. com/store/catalog/Medieval_page_1_c_2.html. Such tapestries bring through the canvas a depiction of a scene or an artwork made famous by a medieval artist.

Such tapestries go back to the renaissance and Arts and Crafts times. Medieval tapestries were intricately woven on fine fabrics primarily wool, for hundreds of years by different races and cultures. Egyptians as well as the Incas buried their dead in tapestries. The Greeks covered their walls like those of the Parthenon, with them. But the credit for excelling in this work goes to the French medieval weavers who with their exquisite work gave the tapestry a new dimension.

One of the highlights of medieval tapestry history is their work in the realm of Unicorn tapestries, rightly since the unicorn has always been a source of marvel and beauty, to the world. The medieval artisans in their attempt at capturing this magical creature have presented it in great depths and pictorial excellence apart from giving it a symbolic interpretation.

In the medieval ages tapestries were symbols of high art as well as items for practical use. Tapestries provided privacy for beds, insulation for castle walls and aesthetically closing awnings. Royalty made it a point to travel with their family tapestry place to place for their comfort as well as a show of prestige. Tapestries due to their richness of texture have always been associated with royalty; they epitomize the luxury and grandeur in their picture and luxurious feel too.

European and medieval tapestries come in different sizes, shapes and colors, and a host of European weavers have shaped the design trend, color scheme and subject matter so that the piece of work resembles that of the medieval ages as much as possible. The revival of interest in medieval tapestries, owe much to the endeavors of William Morris head of Arts and Crafts Movement in England. It must be understood that medieval tapestries are for art lovers and collectors with a taste for history, also that they primarily cater to a selective section of people who happen to be not only art lovers but also follow history and take an interest in the different ages that have exposed various art forms.

Secrets of raffle ticket fundraising success

As a nonprofit you need to find new and exciting ways to raise funds for your organization. Some of the many ways are auctions, dinners, and golf tournaments. In this article, I'm going to show you how and why raffles are considered to be the fastest and most profitable forms of fundraising for your nonprofit organization.

Raffles are simply the quickest, fastest, and most profitable fundraising method around. Organizations of all sizes can benefit from a raffle fundraiser because the size of the raffle can be easily controlled by the organizers.

The cost involved in the organization of a raffle is low, and the profit margin is affected by the number of tickets sold, the cost of the prizes, and the marketing and administrative costs.

Raffles are also an excellent way to draw attention to your organization. More people will learn about your organization and tell others about the raffle tickets they purchased in support of your organization.

The more the community learns about your organization, the more likely they will be to contribute funds in support of your organization in the future. Raffles not only generate money for your organization, but also help spread community awareness.

The one problem that many organizations have is, "How do I get started?" I will give you the steps to take to setup your raffle:

Step 1: Contact your State Attorney General's office.

Step 2: Ask the registration details for conducting a raffle.

Step 3: Organize your raffle with your volunteers and other people associated with your organization.

Step 4: Get your raffle prizes donated to your organization.

Step 5: Market your raffle locally or on the internet.

Since every state and county have their own set of rules and regulations it is just a matter of contacting your State Attorney General's office to get more information about registering your raffle.

You want to ask the correct questions so you will not get into trouble with the goevernment regarding your raffle fundraiser.

Are raffles legal in your state? Can your organization conduct a raffle? What is the prize amount limit for a raffle? And many other questions to ask as well.

So if you are a nonprofit looking to raise funds faster and quicker than ever, raffles are the number one way to get going fast.

Brides and bloating prevent bloating before your wedding day

You have spent countless hours planning and dreaming about your wedding day which is now fast approaching. As you count down the days the panic begins to set in. How do I prevent the all too familiar pre-wedding bloating experienced by so many brides on their wedding day?

Naturally, we as women may think, I will simply starve myself and not drink a lot of liquids for a few days before my wedding. If I do so perhaps this will help drop a bit of weight and reduce some of that nasty cellulite on my body…right? Wrong!

Did you know that water retention is directly linked to what you eat, drink and your daily habits?

Bloating is caused primarily by dehydration. The loss of water in the body can cause constipation. And the corresponding lack of bowel movements creates the tummy bulge.

Here are six tips to follow for at least 1-2 weeks prior to your big day:

1. Drink 8 – 10 glasses of water a day. Drinking less fluid will not cure water retention and can actually make it worse. So drink plenty of water to flush the toxins from your body. Cellulite is a form of fat with retained water. When the body cannot get rid of the wastes and toxins it tends to store cellulite.

2. Try to eliminate salts and refined sugars from your diet. If you can’t eliminate these types of foods then at least cut down on their use as much as you possible can.

3. Get some exercise. Go for a brisk walk, even if it is just 10 minutes. Movement helps you lymphatic system drain and gets the blood pumping which increases circulation. Did you know poor circulation can cause water retention?

4. Don’t skip meals. Much as you may think this is wise, low calorie diets have been shown to increase water retention. But do avoid high fat foods. Incorporate protein in your daily routine. While you are running around getting all the last minute details finished remember to reach for a yogurt, some cottage cheese or make yourself a protein shake. One of the most important nutrients to prevent water retention is protein.

5. Cut down on caffeine and alcohol. These liquids cause dehydration, plus they are empty calories.

6. Take a good multivitamin. Find one that has a high content of Vitamin B (12 and 6). Stress robs your body of essential vitamins, plus you are probably not eating as healthy as you should. Vitamin B is especially good to take when you are under stress, or have bloating. I always take a daily multivitamin but supplement them with a good B vitamin.

Of course it goes without saying that you should also try your best to get proper and sufficient sleep during this stressful period.

If you can follow these six simple, natural yet highly effective guidelines then you’ll look better, feel better and be as radiant as a bride should be on her wedding day. Take charge and eliminate that unnecessary and unwelcome pre-wedding bloating!

They are quick weddings and all you need is two people there to witness the wedding, you don’t need to be dressed up or anything, but you can be! You can have a glamorous wedding at one of the top hotels in Las Vegas if you have a lot of money behind you, the smaller weddings are usually performed at what is like a drive through wedding service.
